It is so hard to find information on how to use the Singer Hemstitch Machine and frankly, they can be a pain in the rear to figure out! With that in mind, I put together this quick video tutorial on how to thread the needles of the 72W19. I did not unthread my Singer sewing machine for the tutorial because, frankly, threading can be a pain. Once I have my hemstitching machine threaded and set, I hate to mess with anything. My hemstitcher is fussy!
The next time I have to rethread my hemstitcher, I will make a more detailed video. Please do not hold your breath. Like I said, I like to set her and leave it. So, it may be a while, since I have fresh needles and fairly full thread cones. Again, I hope the tutorial helps. If you have questions about the machine, please leave comments and I will do my best to make a video, or answer any questions.
I do sell needles for the Singer 72W19. Here is the link for the hemstitcher needles in our Sew Dang Crafty – Etsy Store.

Lead the thread from the back spool through the lower hole in the post thread guide, through the eye of the thread guide (back), under the thread retainer guide wire, between the thread retainer and tension discs (back), down under the inside thread controller, up through the upper hole in the take-up lever, down through the inside guides to the inside needle, and thread the inside needle from left to right.

**VIDEO CORRECTION: At time stamp 3:08 I meant to say, “Thread the needle from LEFT to RIGHT.” I also referred to the “Take-Up Lever” as the “Take-Down Lever.” It should be, “Take-up Lever.”
