Pumpkin Crochet Baby Booties – Free Crochet Pattern

Pumpkin perfect crochet baby booties.  Perfect for that little pumpkin in your life, or Fall baby shower gifts. Fall is my favorite time of year.  So, to welcome Fall, and after much trial and error. Well, TONS of error, I was finally able to complete these crochet pumpkin baby infant booties. I just love the twisting vine and pumpkin ridges of these crochet baby booties.

 

MATERIALS:

  • Worsted Weight Yarn in Green and Orange
  • Size F – 3.75 mm crochet hook.

CROCHET STITCHES AND ABREVIATIONS USED:

  • BPHDC: Back Post Half Double Crochet
  • BPDC: Back Post Double Crochet
  • BPSC: Back Post Single Crochet
  • CH: Chain
  • DC: Double Crochet
  • FPHDC: Front Post Half Double Crochet
  • FPHDC2TOG: Front Post Half Double Crochet Together (to decrease)
  • FPDC: Front Post Double Crochet
  • FPDC2TOG: Front Post Double Crochet Together (to decrease)
  • FPSC: Front Post Single Crochet
  • FPSC2TOG: Front Post Single Crochet Together (to decrease)
  • HDC: Half Double Crochet
  • SC: Single Crochet
  • SL: Slip Stitch
  • ST: Stitch
  • STS: Stitches
  • TR: Triple Crochet

DIRECTIONS:

With green yarn for the sole of the bootie.

  • ROW 1: Ch 11, 2 sc in 2nd st from hook. 1 sc in next 8 sts, 4 sc in last st, (working down other side of chain) 1 sc in next 8 sts, 2 sc in last st, sl st to join. (24 total stitches)
  • ROW 2:  Ch2, 3 hdc in nex st, 1 hdc in next 9 sts, 3 hdc in next st, hdc in next st, 3 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 9 sts, 3 hdc in last st, sl st in top of ch 2. (32 total stitches)
  • Row 3: Ch 1, sc in next st, 2 sc in next 2 sts, 1 sc in next 5 sts, 1 hdc in next 5 sts, 2 hdc i next 2 sts, 1 hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc i next 2 sts, 1 hdc in next 5 sts, 1 sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in last 2 sts, Join with sl st in ch 1. (40 total stitches). Change color.

With orange yarn for the top of the bootie.

  • Row 4: Ch 2, 1 hdc in front loop only of each st around. (This will make a ridge for the sole of the bootie) Sl st top of ch2. (40 total stitches)
  • Row 5: Ch 2, fphdc in next st, bphdc in next st, alternate between fphdc and bphdc around, sl st in top of ch 2 to join. (40 total stitches)
  • Row 6: Ch 1, fpsc in next st, bpsc in next st, 1 fpsc2tog, *fpsc in next st, bpsc in next st (*repeat 6x), fphdc2tog in next st, *fpdc2tog in next st (*repeat 4 more times), fphdc2tog in next st, *fpsc in next st, bpsc in next st (*repeat 4 more times), fpsc2tog in next st, fpsc in next st, bpsc in next st, sl st in ch 1. (31 total stitches)
  • Row 7: Ch 1, 1 sc in the next 12 sts, *fpdctog in the next st (*repeat 2 more times), 1 sc in the next 12 sts, join with sl st in ch 1. Fasten Off. (28 total stitches)

Vine – in green.

For the right bootie:

  • Ch 11, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 sc in each of the next 9 chains. To join to Row 7 of the bootie,  sl st into the first sc to the right of the last fpdc2tog of Row 7 (they are the three center stitches), ch 11, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 sc in each of the next 9 chains, sl st in next sc from Row 7, sc around, sl st into first into sl st to join.  Fasten Off.

For the left bootie:

  • Ch 11, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 sc in ea of the next 9 chains. To join to Row 7 of the bootie, sl st into the first sc to the left of the first fpdc2tog of Row 7 (they are the three center stitches), ch 11, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 sc in each of the next 9 chains, sl st in next sc from Row 7, sc around, sl st into first into sl st to join.  Fasten Off.
